BearForm is a fitness tracking app. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how you can delete it.
Account data: If you create an account, we store your email address.
Training logs: Workouts (exercises, sets, reps, weights), cardio sessions, and walks you log in the app.
Body data: Bodyweight entries and measurements you enter manually.
Health data (Android Health Connect): With your explicit permission, we read step counts, sleep duration, and heart rate from Health Connect. This data is used only to show you your activity stats and award bonus XP. It is never shared with third parties.
Nutrition logs: Protein, carbs, fat, and water entries you log manually.
App settings: Preferences such as weight unit, training schedule, and notification settings.
Subscription status (Bear Pro): If you subscribe to Bear Pro, we store whether your subscription is active. The actual payment is handled by Google Play (Android) or Apple (iOS) — we never see your card details. RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) acts as our subscription analytics provider and receives an anonymous user identifier + the purchase event.
All data is collected solely to provide the app's core features: training tracking, progress visualization, AI-powered coaching, and streak calculation. We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.
Supabase (supabase.com) stores your account and training data on servers in the EU. Supabase acts as a data processor under our agreement.
Anthropic (anthropic.com) processes prompts sent to the AI coach. Prompts may include your training history and goals. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their API terms.
RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) handles subscription state for Bear Pro. They receive your subscription identifier and purchase events from Google Play / Apple. They do not see your account email or training data.
Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase process subscription payments. They receive only what's required for billing (card details, name, billing address) — never your training data. Refunds and cancellations are managed via your Play Store / App Store account.
YouTube (Google LLC) hosts the exercise tutorial videos embedded in the app. We use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain; playback only happens when you explicitly tap a video, at which point your IP address and basic device information are shared with Google for video delivery. We do not preload these videos or send any of your training data to YouTube.
No other third parties receive your personal data.
When your AI coach builds or adapts a plan, BearForm sends your training inputs — goals, equipment, experience, and any notes you write — to Anthropic (anthropic.com), the provider of the Claude AI model. We do NOT send your name, email address, or health-account data with these requests.
Your inputs are not used to train the model. Anthropic acts as a sub-processor under our agreement and processes the prompts only to return your plan, governed by their API terms. You can use BearForm without the AI coach — choose "Continue without account" or the built-in plan, and no training inputs are sent to Anthropic.
On Android, with your explicit permission, BearForm reads step counts, sleep duration, and heart rate from Health Connect. This health data is read on-device to show your steps and activity stats and to award bonus XP. Any of it that we store on your behalf is processed and stored in the EU region (via Supabase). It is never shared with advertisers or other third parties, and is never sent to the AI coach. You can revoke Health Connect access at any time in your Android settings.
Inside the app, go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data from our servers within 24 hours. You can also email [email protected] to request deletion.
Note: deleting your BearForm account does NOT cancel your Bear Pro subscription if you have one. Cancel separately via Google Play → Subscriptions before deleting, or your subscription will continue billing until cancelled.
Data is retained as long as you have an account. Deleted accounts are purged immediately. Anonymous local-only data (no account) is stored only on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
BearForm is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We will update this page and bump the effective date for any material changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
